Anywho! Here’s a collection of my highlights and a snippet of my experience from pageant weekend with NAM!
My first pageant experience was extra special for a few reasons and I’m so incredibly blessed to have had this opportunity with NAM.
This was the first year NAM has had a Miss Division for Minnesota and I’m glad I got to be one of the first contestants. We also got to celebrate NAM’s 20th anniversary this year! The entire weekend was full of excitement and celebration!
The mindset I had going into my first pageant was one of openness and gratitude. I was excited to meet new friends, network, and take this opportunity to build on my own self-confidence and add to my slew of experiences. The awards I did win were just a happy bonus!
The pageant weekend itself was very organized. When I first saw the schedule I was a bit overwhelmed with how packed it was. They had every event scheduled out to the minute and it worked! The weekend, despite being jam-packed, went very smoothly. If you ever decide to participate in a pageant I highly recommend booking your hotel room in the host hotel. It made the weekend easier because I did spend almost all day in the convention center ballrooms of the hotel and call time was VERY early. If you know me, mornings are not my favorite… It was also convenient to run back up to my room if I needed to.
The staff with NAM were always smiling and open for questions at any time. I appreciated that because I had a lot of questions being so new to the pageant world. The other contestants were also so inviting and encouraging. The atmosphere was full of great energy which added even more positivity to my overall experience.
The optional competitions I competed in were also such a great experience! I competed in Talent, Top Model, Screen Test, Red Carpet Correspondent, and Photogenic. The videos and photos I received from the optionals are wonderful additions to my acting and modeling portfolios and I can’t wait to pursue further job opportunities in the talent industry.
I am so pumped to participate in Nationals this fall down in Florida, it’s going to be even bigger and even better than the state pageant was! And I can’t wait to meet up with all my new friends again and make more new connections with contestants around the US!!!
