🇩🇪Hamburg, Germany Adventures

The day we flew in was a struggle with adjusting to the time difference and the Jetlag was harsh! Our Airbnb host, Norman, was absolutely fabulous! He helped us with how to reach his apartment on the S-Bahn train from the airport and then aided us with bringing our luggage upstairs! He was very inviting and gave us so many recommendations on food and entertainment in the city. I was very surprised to find everything in such close proximity! All of the places Norman suggested us try and see were all within walking distance. We spent the first night in, catching up on sleep and getting over the Jetlag. On Thursday, we woke up at 5:40am (darn timezones!) and decided to get ready and venture out to explore Hamburg for the day! We left the apartment and started walking down towards the Hamburg Harbour to checkout the Cap San Diego museum and the shops down there.

We walked down various roads as we tried to find the Harbour access roads and we stumbled upon the St. Michael Cathedral. It was an absolutely stunning building inside and out! The architecture not only of St. Michael but of the rest of Hamburg was so breathtaking! I have added photos of the different architectural features we saw throughout the city! We took a Double-Decker Red bus tour around the city which was wonderful because we got to see so much and learn a bit about the city’s history. Thursday evening, we took a boat tour around the harbor and shipyard to see the city lights which we also got to get a sneak-peak of the Semester at Sea’s vessel, The World Odyssey!

Stay tuned for our visit to Jever, Germany!!
